Workshop Technical Coordinator

An experienced Workshop Technical Coordinator is wanted for a Workshops & Offices Community for companies, in Copenhagen's Sydhavn

Do you have a passion for ensuring the smooth and safe operation of fabrication spaces and a keen eye for detail work? Do you want to engage with an interdisciplinary community of makers, supporting the technical development of seven dynamic workshops, in a rapidly developing district in Copenhagen's Sydhavn? If yes, read on!

We are strengthening our small in-house Workshop Team and as our current colleague will be focusing on other projects, we are looking for a committed and proactive Technical Coordinator to take responsibility for the daily operation,  maintenance, and improvement of our tools and machines.

Areas of responsibility and tasks

You will play a central role at Trifolium and together with our Workshop Manager and Workshop Assistant, you will form the Workshops Team, having a broad interface with both member companies and other colleagues on a daily basis.

Your responsibilities and tasks will include

  • Maintaining organised and clean areas throughout busy and communal spaces
  • Answering members’ questions on all technical aspects, encouraging safe use and best practice across tools, machinery and extraction systems
  • Troubleshooting and repairing tools and machinery to provide a high level of reliable service to all our members
  • Troubleshooting our extraction systems and escalating to contractors as necessary
  • Ensuring daily, weekly and monthly maintenance tasks are scheduled and executed
  • Ensuring unforseen troubleshooting tasks are dealt with with a sense of calm and urgency
  • Monitoring the safe use of workshop spaces and equipment, addressing all concerns as they occur and escalating to the Workshop Manager as necessary
  • Developing and delivering introductory courses to workshop areas as well as technical courses on machines, in coordination with the Workshop Manager
  • Stock checking and ordering all necessary spare components and replacement parts
  • Keeping our internal administration systems up to date (eg Fabman, Maintainex)
  • Keeping a good tone in the workshops and in our internal communication systems (eg Slack, mail)

Everyday life here is full of professional members who all wish to contribute to a good atmosphere. It is also full of great variety, and to be successful in this role, collaboration, communication and good humour are paramount. Therefore, it is important that you can work independently, take responsibility and pull out the ‘yes hat’ when the situation calls for it.

Qualifications and experience

At a personal level, we hope to find a colleague who is

  • approachable by nature and finds satisfaction in supporting different types of people
  • a good team player that can maintain positive and constructive dialogue
  • able to maintain own motivation even with repetitive tasks and member questions
  • confident and proactive in taking ownership and action across any emergencies
  • quick to take on strategic direction from the Workshop Manager and implement it as daily routine

At a professional level, we hope to find a colleague who has

  • a minimum 5-10 years of experience in a similar technical role, preferably within creative, technological, or educational environments
  • a relevant education in engineering, fabrication, machining or similar
  • an existing range of knowledge across tools and machinery found in our metal, wood and electronics workshops
  • a proactive willingness to expand knowledge across tools and machinery found in our textiles, model and prototyping workshops

Your work will be coordinated on a day-to-day basis by our English speaking Workshop Manager, so a good level of English is necessary here. As you will also be liaising with suppliers, a good level of Danish would be beneficial. This role reports to the CEO.

We offer

  • Permanent & full time employment
  • Weekday working hours 08:00-16:00 with some flexibility possible
  • Salary according to qualifications and experience
  • Good atmosphere, collegiality and togetherness
  • A creative and dynamic workplace with space to learn and grow
  • Communal lunch every day where we all sit together
  • Social events like Friday Bars, Summer Party, Julefrokost, etc.
  • Possibility of access to workshops & machines in your spare time
  • Car available for work-related tasks
